CCG has always been committed to training and developing young people. Our year-on-year commitment to skills replenishment secures the long-term success of the CCG Group and is integral to the future of the Scottish construction industry. We believe our apprenticeship programme, which presently employs 62 tradespeople, acts as a solid foundation for our young people to learn, progress and ultimately forge a strong career in the construction industry.
CCG offers a 4-year programme for 16-21-year-olds and a 2-year programme for adults across trades such as:
Each programme will provide our apprentices with as broad a reach as possible about their chosen craft and, alongside their trainers, are immediately given an understanding about the day-to-day operations of a construction site. CCG’s operates across a wide variety of sectors, ensuring that our apprentices are given a greater understanding about different kinds of projects.
Our Annual Apprentice Intake takes place every summer and this year, CCG took on 16 new trades’ apprentices, three more than the following year across bricklaying, joinery and plumbing.
CCG obtained the coveted Investors in Young People Gold Accreditation in 2015, which is a people management standard that focuses on an employer’s recruitment and retention of young people. This represents a true commitment to the training and development of young people and demonstrates CCG as an employer of choice for young people and testament to our effective practices around Youth Employment. The Group can proudly say that it has retained this standard for 2016/17.
CCG will be proud to welcome our new apprentices in August 2017.
