CCG has always believed in donating to charities be that national or locally-based. We pride ourselves in this fact and that is why we wanted to encourage our staff to get involved with the ‘One Day Charity Incentive’.
CCG recognises that the company and its employees have a significant role to play in the communities in which we work and live. The company actively encourages its employees to develop their skills within the context of their personal development and to harness their skills to add value to many voluntary organisation who rely on volunteers to achieve their objectives.
The company has made a commitment to allow employees up to one paid day off in a 12-month period to volunteer for a registered charity.
The most recent CCG staff member to have taken up this opportunity is Scott Goldie who is a Design Technician with CCG OSM, the group’s offsite manufacturing division.
Scott participated in the inaugural International Sensory Cup held at the Sunderland F.C’s Stadium of Light as goalkeeper for Scotland vs England in a one-off football match to raise awareness for the requirement of Sensory rooms within UK stadia.
The final result of the ‘Auld Enemy’ match saw Scotland winning by a six-goal margin… can you imagine the scenes if that happened in professional football???
A club tournament format has previously been hosted on three occasions with a fourth aiming to take place in 2019 with the likes of Airdrieonians, Rangers and Celtic taking part. As a direct result of each team’s participation over this period, £10,000 was raised to help launch the Diamond Sensory Room at the Airdrieonians Excelsior Stadium.
Since its launch, teams across the country have followed suit including Rangers’ Ibrox Stadium and Arsenal’s Emirates Arena whilst all venues for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will have their own Sensory Room for travelling supporters.
