THE Saltire Society’s annual Housing and Design Awards is one of the most prestigious on the Scottish calendar and for 2019, the esteemed judges nominated CCG as a finalist for this year’s ‘Innovation in Housing’ Award with our Admiral Street project as well as Anderston Regeneration Phase 4 & 5 in the ‘Multiple Dwellings’ Award category.
Whilst Admiral Street – the first CCG project to have utilised a panelised timber frame and CLT hybrid structure for construction – did not win an award, Anderston was commended for bringing a new civic centre to the Anderston area by creating a modern housing development that promoted wider integration thanks to new cycle and pedestrian routes.
Judges did note that CCG’s approach to innovative construction methods at Admiral Street ‘had to be applauded’ with the advancement of site-based efficiencies being for the betterment of the homes, driving quality standards, and for the people that will live in them.
