CCG has completed the latest phase of development at Glasgow Airport with the new Consolidated Car Rental Centre (CCRC). The centre offers a one-stop-shop car hire facility for passengers housing all of the airport’s rental partners including Hertz, Avis and Europcar. Both the airport and its rental partners worked in partnership on the concept and design of the centre to ensure the process of hiring a car is a quick and convenient experience.
To maximise awareness and create ease for the incoming passengers, the CCRC is situated much closer to the main terminal building. Inside, the centre offers a far more comfortable environment than the previous layouts including increased floor and office space and is equipped to handle the latest technological advances including premium contactless booking services, which include real-time updates via a customer’s smartphone on upgrade options on the cars available at the centre as they arrive. Passengers can also complete the whole rental process using their phones and go from the terminal direct to their chosen car.
CCG utilised a steel frame for the construction and led the creation of the the car park to the rear of the building and the construction of a new fully lit covered walkway.
Arc-Tech worked in tandem with the CCG and provided a full turnkey M&E Solution to ensure a successful and efficient delivery, an important factor considering the rigorous specifications set forth to contractors working in an environment like an airport. The list of services included:
The CCRC was completed in January 2017 within a 48 week programme.
