Dundashill Wins Second Sustainability Award

Scotland’s largest Passivhaus-accredited residential development has secured a second sustainability award in 2024 after winning the CIH Housing Award for ‘Excellence in Regeneration & Sustainability.’

Announced at an awards ceremony in Glasgow on November 8, 2024, the Chartered Institute of Housing’s “annual awards recognise the creativity, passion and innovation of housing organisations and individuals across the sector in Scotland.”

Dundashill Plot 3A is the first phase to be completed at the mixed-use ‘Dundashill Regeneration Masterplan’ in north Glasgow earlier this year and is Scotland’s largest Passivhaus-accredited development, comprising 90, one, two, and three-bedroom mid-market rent apartments for West Scot Living (part of West of Scotland Housing Association).

The project, designed by Collective Architecture, uses an entirely non-gas energy strategy for space heating and hot water services, whilst the enhanced thermal performance derived from the build standard will naturally lower energy consumption and with it, operational carbon emissions and the associated fuel bills for tenants.

This approach to sustainability has seen Dundashill become a multi-award-winner having also secured the Scottish Home Award ‘Excellence in Sustainability’ in September.
