The Victorian manse faces onto Ballochmyle Street and now offers the local community enhanced facilities such as office space, meeting rooms and a modernised data network.
The former Church Hall stands at the rear of the site and it to has been modernised with a new external cladding solution. Its ancillary buildings were demolished to make way for the interpretation centre, a unique building that offers visitor’s to learn about the industrial heritage of the site and the wider area of Catrine.
Our client, Catrine Community Trust, maintained a commitment to low carbon technology and best practice demonstration of an ecologically friendly approach in the use of materials and technology. For this reason, the project includes renewables technologies including PVs and Heat recovery, as well as a biofuel demonstration area.
