Apprentice Graduate Case Study

Hanna Muir is a plumbing apprentice graduate that now works with CCG (Scotland) as a Senior Safety, Health and Environmental Advisor.

She started with us at the age of 17 and was a fully qualified heating engineer at the age of just 21. Rather than heading out on the tools, Hanna’s first position was as a TLO (Tenant Liaison Officer) followed by Plumbing Foreman with our Asset Management Division but whilst it was a positive challenge, the lure of Health & Safety was something that she was excited to explore.

Whilst she never set a goal for her career; Hanna credits the experience of her apprenticeship; the variety of skills has enabled her to make decisions and adapt to a role that is perfect for her long-term progression.

For apprentices, she simply says “you’ve put the work in for your programme, now show everyone what you can do! But, don’t forget: every day is a school day.”
