Set to take place on 17 May, this year’s theme “centres around how we meet the housing needs of everyone living (or who wishes to live) in Scotland” as well as “showcasing best practice and innovation”.
Three CCG Group developments have been nominated across every project category whilst CCG itself has also been nominated for the People | Place | Planet Award which focuses on the ESG credentials of an organisation and how they are deployed across day-to-day business operations.
Led by CCG’s private housing arm, CCG Homes, Calderwood Lodge will be competing for Development of the Year – Small (up to 25 units).
Designed by Stallan Brand, the project involved the transformation of the former Calderwood Lodge Primary School in Newlands, south Glasgow, and now comprises 20 luxury private homes, including 4 apartments presented within a stunningly conserved and upgraded Victorian sandstone villa.
Nominated in the Development of the Year – Medium (26-99 units) is Dundashill Plot 3, the first project of the Dundashill Masterplan in north Glasgow and Scotland’s largest Passivhaus development.
Comprising 90 apartments delivered on behalf of West of Scotland Housing Association and designed by Collective Architecture, Plot 3 is one of several sites that will regenerate the former Diageo Distillery into a new, sustainable community. As a means of achieving Passivhaus certification, the development was constructed using an enhanced version of the CCG ‘iQ’ Timber System, integrated with our own Passivhaus-accredited windows and enhanced door sets, whilst low carbon heating appliances further support its credentials as one of the country’s most advanced affordable housing projects.
A third example of urban regeneration in Glasgow is the Meat Market. Located on the corner of Duke Street and Bellgrove Street east of the city centre, the development comprises 251 apartments constructed (partially) upon the site of the former Glasgow Meat Market, which dates back to the mid-19th century. Delivered on behalf of Home Group, it is one of the most significant developments completed in Glasgow in recent years and is nominated in the Development of the Year – Large (100+ units) category.
