CCG TO DELIVER NEW SUPPORTED LIVING DEVELOPMENT IN CLYDEBANK

Proposals for a new housing development on the site of a former Clydebank care home are moving forward after the appointment of CCG (Scotland).

The proposed supported living development is designed by Anderson Bell + Christie and aims to provide 19 homes, comprising cottage and tenement flats and terraced bungalows.

As part of CCG’s involvement in the project, a range of social benefit initiatives will be undertaken within the local community with a commitment to paying all staff the real living wage as well as using local companies for any sub-contracting opportunities.

In addition, CCG will recruit at least two employees from the West Dunbartonshire area.

The contract is expected to commence in 2024.

Councillor June McKay, said:

“I am delighted that our contracts require firms to think about ways they can work to benefit our communities while they work with us. This is another way in which the council has shown its commitment to making the lives of our residents better.

“Now that a contractor has been appointed for the design and build, this project will move towards planning proposals.”
