HOMES FOR SCOTLAND AWARDS ANNOUNCE 2023 FINALISTS

Homes for Scotland (HFS) have announced several CCG projects as finalists for their annual awards.

The awards ceremony, set to take place on May 30th in Edinburgh, forms part of the body’s Annual Conference with this year’s key focus being People | Place | Planet and the opportunity to highlight the many ways member organisations are “moving the dial on sustainable behaviours when #deliveringmore homes for Scotland.”

CCG won Affordable Housebuilder of the Year in 2022 and our nominations for 2023 feature some of the foremost regeneration projects delivered by the Group in the west of Scotland.

Vying for the Development of the Year (Medium) prize will be North Gate and Cromdale Square.

North Gate is a near pierless example of architectural design for new, affordable housebuilding. The culmination of 30 years of regeneration on Crown Street, the 31-home development was designed by Page/ Park and CCG led its delivery on behalf of our client, New Gorbals Housing Association.

Also located in the southside of Glasgow, Cromdale Square is another wonderful example of housing-led regeneration in the city. Formerly the site of Drumoyne Primary School, a once popular landmark for the community of Govan has been sympathetically conserved with the retention of the school facade and conversion of the janitor’s house forming part of a 49-home masterplan delivered on behalf of Linthouse Housing Association with Grant Murray Architects.

Announced as a finalist for Development of the Year (Large) is Queens Quay. The 145-home development provides high-quality affordable homes as part of the Queens Quay Regeneration of the former John Brown Shipyard in Clydebank. Taking advantage of unrivalled views towards the River Clyde, it is a leading example of urban regeneration in West Dunbartonshire and was delivered by CCG, in partnership with MAST Architects, for Wheatley Group, West Dunbartonshire Council, and Clydebank Housing Association.
