PAISLEY LEARNING HUB WINS SCOTTISH DESIGN AWARD

The Paisley Learning and Cultural Hub has secured its second, major accolade after scooping a SILVER Scottish Design Award.

The awards, organised by Urban Realm, bring the great and the good from across the design space in Scotland. From architects to digital designers and marketers, it is an annual celebration of creativity across many of the country’s creative industries.

CCG had several projects nominated this year and it is with great delight that we can now recognise Paisley Leaning and Cultural Hub as a multi-award-winning project after winning the SILVER award in this year’s Regeneration category.

The Paisley Learning and Cultural Hub is now the official residence of the Paisley Central Library. It was constructed to provide a digitally connected and modern learning environment for everyone, young and old.

Designed by Collective Architecture and delivered by CCG on behalf of the Council and hub West Scotland, the new facility is part of a much bigger programme of investment in the town that has also included Paisley Town Hall, Museum and an extension to Paisley Art Centre.

The project involved the complete renovation of a previous shop unit by CCG over four floors, with a modern High Street frontage. The ground floor consists of a reception area, a children’s library, and a storytelling area, with an exceptional play structure featuring designs by the renowned Scottish artist, Claire Barclay.

We extend our congratulations to all of our project partners and this year’s winners. For more information on the winning projects, CLICK HERE.
