Citadel Court, located just outside of Leith’s town centre, involved the installation of new, flat entrance doors to a series of multi-storey tower blocks on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Council.
A total of 135 properties were the beneficiaries of the CCG FD60 door, a fully fire-certified and accredited door that is specially-designed to support fire safety in high-rise accommodation. Manufactured using engineered timber, in the event of an emergency, the door can stop the spread of fire for a 60-minute duration whilst the frame, also manufactured by CCG to complete the entire door set, has incumbents installed to mitigate the transfer of smoke.
All ironmongery – including the metallic flame break, handles, letterbox, peep-hole, and locking systems – as well as double-sided paintwork were fully applied within the factory environment prior to being installed on-site by CCG Asset Management. This process ensures right-first-time quality, consistency and an efficient installation process whilst delivering a true chain of responsibility and value for the client via the complete design, supply, and fit service.
Citadel Court was undertaken over a 10-week programme.
