Located in East Kilbride, and each reaching 16 storeys, over 300 residences have received new, FD60 Fire Doors whilst the building is now fitted with enhanced common doors to passageways, storage cupboards, and riser stores.
Fabricated by CCG and installed by CCG Asset Management, the doors are manufactured using solid timber and are designed to withstand the effects of a fire for a one-hour duration. Each door has especially applied intumescent seals to the frame and ironmongery to prevent the passage of smoke and harmful gases as well as being fitted with automatic closing systems, among other features.
The contract is the latest in a series of supply and installation contracts undertaken on behalf of South Lanarkshire Council since 2022. Over 600 residences across the local authority have received upgraded measures to their high-rise accommodation, with a further 1000 set to benefit over the coming 12 months.
The workstream was procured via the Scottish Procurement Alliance Fire Door (C8) Framework)
