GLAMIS ROAD, DUNDEE

Glamis Road is a mixed-tenure residential development located to the west of Dundee City Centre.

A brownfield site, CCG conceieved the deevelopment as a land-led solution delivering has been 17 three and four bedroom homes for private sale, sold by CCG, as well as the bespoke creation of Blackwood House, a 6, two-bedroom special needs flats which were delivered on behalf of Blackwood Group.

Provided in a mix of semi-detached and detached house types, each home is provided with a flexible, spacious layout whilst a mix of render and sandtone was used for the eleveations. All homes were provided with rear gardens generating a price range between £190,000 and £250,000. CCG achieved full sell-out satus in just 11 months.

Blackwood House, or otherwise known as the ‘Concept Home’, sits adjacent to the private development and is one of Scotland’s most innovative amenity housing developments.

Built over two storeys and integrated with Blackwood’s patented smart technology ‘CleverClogs’, the 6 flats were designed to make life as accessible as possible for those with limited mobility whilst offering enhanced levels of care. Through an integrated data and communications system, residents can communicate with Blackwood staff 24 hours a day. The flats themselves have also been integrated with technical software that is linked to the CleverClogs software’s central command system that allows them to digitally control lighting, electric blinds, and the underfloor heating. Other features include a fully adapted layout with rise and fall kitchen surfaces and cupboards; a fully adjustable bathroom including a toilet with an automated cleaning system, and other unique appliances to assist with the everyday lives of the resident.

All of the housing at Glamis Road was constructed using CCG ‘s iQ Timber System with Blackwood House benefitting from an enhanced stage of the offsite manufacturing process with the use of a lightweight cladding system. A factory-applied mic of a silicone topcoat render solution and acrylic brick slips were utilised for the finish. Offering enhanced time savings, the entire building was constructed wind and watertight in just 20 days.

Glamis Road was completed in summer-2017.
