ST ANDREW’S DRIVE, GLASGOW

Located in Pollokshields, south Glasgow, St Andrew’s Drive Phases 2 & 3 has transformed a site of low-quality, ’60s flatted blocks into a contemporary new development of 120 homes in a mix of social and mid-market rent for Southside Housing Association.

The philosophy of the masterplan was to better that of the previous; gone is the single concrete slab of the homes flats that previously resided on the site which has been replaced by eight, four-storey blocks that are designed around a series of interconnected green spaces.

Designed by JM Architects, a range of flats and maisonettes provides homes for individuals, couples, and families including 1-, 2- & 3-bedroom apartments, 2-bedroom wheelchair accessible apartments and 3- & 4-bedroom main door maisonette homes. Homes are further enhanced by private terraces, recessed balconies, and large windows with Juliet balconies which create bright and open living spaces and are complementary to the communal grounds which are all fully DDA compliant also contain wild gardens and areas for child’s play.

CCG’s i’Q Timber System was used for the majority of the build and our in-house divisions supported its delivery including the manufacture of all internal door sets and installation of plumbing, joinery, flooring and renewables.

Alongside construction services, CCG also undertook a range of community-based initiatives in collaboration with Southside Housing Association. This included a £30,000 donation that was split to offer valuable support to local foodbank Pollokshaws Mutual Aid Point (£10,000) on Shields Road as well as supporting the upgrade of a local women’s cafe (£5,000), community facility (£5,000) and a nominal £10,000 value that was granted to tenants of the association during the 2022 winter period.

The donations provided alongside job creation and engagement with local schools over the course of the construction programme which was officially completed in early-2023.
