Building Futures

WHEATLEY FOUNDATION

CCG (Scotland) has helped support communities in Glasgow to the tune of £91,000 as a result of three developments undertaken with Wheatley, Scotland’s leading housing, care and property management group, during the 2021-2022 financial year.

The contribution was made to Wheatley Foundation, the charitable arm of Wheatley, as part of the Community Benefits clause in the Group’s new-build and investment contracts.

Wheatley Foundation helps create opportunities for customers, including access to employment, training and learning as well as tackling social exclusion and working to alleviate the impacts of poverty.

A total of £54,000 was donated to the Foundation’s Home Comforts service, which provides furniture and white goods, as a result of Hurlford Avenue, a 72-home development built by CCG on the site of a former primary school site in Garscadden.

The Foundation’s education bursary programme, which helps people at college and university, was the recipient of a £20,000 donation from CCG which was delivered as a result of a 26-home development in Pollok.

A third project, comprising 22 homes in Thornliebank, saw £17,000 donated to the Foundation’s partnership with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which sends children a specially chosen book free of charge every month until their fifth birthday. Wheatley Group recently announced that a total of 25,000 books have been delivered to children across its communities since 2018.

Wheatley is one of CCG’s largest clients and we work with them across the country every year. Alongside valuable investment, we also help create jobs and access to training and apprenticeships as well as delivering high-quality, affordable homes and great places to live.
